Kourou, French Guiana (SPX) Mar 16, 2010 Launch Activity Is In Full Swing At French Guiana As Preparations Move Forward In Parallel For Ariane 5's First Two Missions In 2010 - Underscoring Arianespace's Ability To Support A Sustained Mission Pace With Its Workhorse Vehicle. The Year's First Heavy-Lift Launch Campaign - Which Will Loft The Astra 3B And Comsatbw-2 Satellites On March 24 - Reached A New Milestone This Week With The Start-Up Of Final Payload Integration. This Activity Began In The Spaceport's Launch Vehicle Final Assembly Building, Where Astra 3B Was Installed Atop The Ariane 5 Sylda Dual-Payload Dispenser System. Meanwhile, The First Passenger For Ariane 5's Subsequent Flight Is Now In French Guiana Following Arabsat 5A's Trans-Atlantic Flight From Europe Earlier This Week. Arabsat 5A Arrived At Rochambeau International Airport Aboard An Antonov An-124 Cargo Aircraft, Delivered From Its Production Facilities In Toulouse, France. The Second Ariane 5 Mission This Year Is Targeted For Late April, And Will Orbit Arabsat 5A Along With The Coms Multi-Mission Satellite.
