The U.S. Air Force launch of a United Launch Alliance's Atlas V Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle carrying the second Wideband Global SATCOM satellite was scrubbed March 17 after the launch team detected an anomalous leak rate in the Centaur upper stage oxidizer valve.
The operation was secured for the evening and the team commenced the standard detanking procedure.
Once the cause of the leak is understood, the team will begin planning for a new launch date in coordination with the U.S. Air Force and Eastern Range.
The launch was originally scheduled for a March 14 liftoff.
No new date has been set at this time. More information will be released as it becomes available.
