Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) Baikonur department head Anatoly Belokon has refuted the alleged plans to launch a Proton rocket from Baikonur on September 15.
"Fresh launches are out of the question until we clean up the accident aftermath," Belokon said.
Kazakh Environmental Protection Minister Nurlan Kapparov asked for comment on the Proton launch date reported by the media at a meeting of the governmental commission supervising the Proton-M crash cleanup.
The International Launch Services (ILS) website reported on Wednesday that a heavy Proton would blast off on September 15.
A Proton rocket will put the Astra 2E satellite into orbit on September 15, 2013, the website said.
A Proton-M rocket with three Glonass-M satellites took off from the 81st launch pad at the Baikonur Space Center on July 2.
Its trajectory changed abruptly after takeoff and the rocket started falling to pieces in mid-air.
The rocket hit the ground near the launch pad and exploded. The rocket was fueled with 600 tonnes of heptyl, amyl and kerosene.
ILS launches satellites with Proton-M LV and Briz-M upper stages made by the Khrunichev Space Center.
